Mindful awareness is an inherent ability we all share as human beings. It’s the capacity to pay attention to what is happening as it is happening moment by moment. So, the adventure is to uncover and deepen what is already within each of us.

There are many definitions of mindfulness…

Jack Kornfield - “an innate human capacity to deliberately pay full attention to where we are, to our actual experience, and to learn from it.”

Jon Kabat-Zinn – “Mindfulness can be thought of as moment to moment, non-judgmental awareness, cultivated by paying attention in a specific way, that is in the present moment, as non-reactively, and as openheartedly as possible.”

Amy Saltzman – “Mindfulness is paying attention, here and now, with kindness and curiosity, so that we can choose our behavior.”

…powerful words – but mindfulness is best understood by experiencing the practice.

Many have said it’s like explaining in words what chocolate tastes like, or what love feels like. You really have to experience it to know what mindfulness is for you.

Health and Wellness Coach Linda Gradess offers you ways to begin or continue mindful awareness practices that build resources for resilience, health, and wellbeing.
